Breakfast smoothie – rich with vitamins, carbohydrates and fiber, it is a valuable and nutritious morning food and drink at the same time!
Thanks to beets, smoothie is not only bright pink, but also improves the digestive system, promotes stabilization of blood pressure and strengthens the immune system.
HEALTHY PINK BREAKFAST SMOOTHIEDrukāt/Print
Sastāvdaļas1 tsp Chia seeds 200 ml rice milk* 1 beet (very small) 2 carrots (medium) 1 orange 1 lime 100 g pineapple (fresh or canned) 1.5 cups frozen strawberries 1 cup frozen raspberries 100 ml plain yogurt* 3 tbsp maple syrup
- Pour rice milk into a cup and add Chia seeds. Mix it and allow the seeds to grow for 5-10 minutes;
- Meanwhile, peel fresh beets and carrots. Cut them in smaller pieces, so the food processor can blend them better. Place in a food processor and grind it well for about a minute;
- Add in a food processor the squeezed juice from orange and lime and all other ingredients – including the pre-swollen Chia seeds, and blend everything well till smooth consistency.
- Serve immediately after smoothie is done, because then, thanks to the frozen berries, drink is nicely cool.
From the indicated ingredients, you will get ~1-1.1l smoothie, which you can serve for 2-4 people.
You can use other milk drinks or regular milk instead of rice milk, but if you want the smoothie to be lactose-free, I recommend using rice, almond, coconut or soy milk.
If you want it a little sweeter, add extra maple syrup.
Use certified gluten - free oats to have it gluten - free.
